A second round of community funding has been approved with 24 new projects getting the green light. This is part of Community Bank Epping‘s commitment to returning at least 80% of annual profits to local projects that benefit the area.

32 project applications were submitted by 29 organisations with a great range of activities – from local schools to service organisations, events to sporting clubs, community assistance to local churches. All the applications had one thing in common – they seek to improve and enhance living in and around Epping.

After assessment, 24 project grants were approved. Some are already getting underway whilst other projects will take longer to come to fruition.  The requests were from:

  • 5 local school P&Cs
  • 7 community sports clubs
  • 3 churches
  • 5 community assistance organisations
  • 1 local event
  • 1 environmental organisation
  • 2 service clubs

Projects include:

  • Funding for parenting programs
  • Fit out of a new Men’s Shed
  • Support for a digital literacy course for seniors
  • New equipment for local netball, soccer, cricket and baseball clubs
  • Funding for a project in local schools on the importance of bees
  • Assistance for important capital works at local disabled riding services
  • Essential equipment for a breakfast club at a local high school
  • Support for projects run by four other school P&Cs

All this, and more, is made possible through local residents choosing to use Community Bank Epping for their banking.
