Sport enhances our community

Whether you like to kick a ball (round or oval!), throw a pass, run a circuit or use a bat – sport is part of the Australian way of life. And the Epping area is lucky to have an incredible array of community sports clubs offering a range of opportunities to get out, make new friends, compete and have fun.

Community Bank Epping has long been a supporter of these clubs. They often run on the smell of an oily rag – trying to keep costs low for families, but also needing to upgrade gear, pay fees, support umpires and run competitions. Except for volunteers and families, they wouldn’t exist. And people will tell you that you get more out than you put in …

Our grants program can step up by providing funding for capital projects, assisting canteen fit outs, purchasing uniforms and gear and generally helping to cover costs and reduce the burden of continual fundraising.

Over the last year, we’ve stepped up our local support with these projects:

  • North Epping Rangers – canteen fit out at new facility in Ron Payne Park and new marquees
  • Epping Eastwood FC – canteen fit out at new clubhouse in Boronia Park and new marquees
  • Roselea FC – new training gear and new marquees
  • Carlingford Netball Club – training shirts
  • St Andrews Netball Club – jackets for volunteers and umpires
  • Epping Bulls Cricket Club – renovation of cricket nets at North Epping Oval
  • Epping District Athletics Club – renovation of clubhouse training gym
  • Tigers Baseball Club – new uniforms

This year, investigate joining your local sports club, or get down to a soccer ground or netball court this winter and cheer them on!
