Nurturing and mentoring the young leaders of the future is the focus of the annual National Leadership Forum held in Canberra. This year, Community Bank Epping was delighted to support a local student to attend and benefit from four days developing values, compassion and connection skills.
Natalie Yeomans approached the bank for sponsorship to facilitate her participation in the Forum. She shared with us her takeaways from the week:
“Thanks to the kind and generous support of Community Bank Epping, I recently had the privilege of attending the National Leadership Forum, a four-day event for young people held in Canberra. As a local university student, getting to Canberra and attending the Forum was no small commitment – Community Bank Epping’s assistance to help me attend was absolutely instrumental.ย
The Forum was an amazing opportunity to meet inspiring young leaders from all across the nation, and to dive deeply into what it means to be a servant-minded, driven, and self-reflective leader.ย
We were lucky enough to hear an exclusive address from the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament House, to listen to Olympian Mack Horton about what leadership, courage, and perseverance mean to him, and to meet MPs and non-profit leaders from innumerable unique walks of life. We also had the privilege of hearing from military service people at the War Memorial, and diving into community contribution of our own by doing volunteer yardwork in the suburbs of Canberra.
I would like to thank Community Bank Epping once again for making this opportunity a possibility for me. It was a pleasure to learn so much from our national leaders, broaden my perspective on the values that matter most, and meet so many inspiring people.”
