Helping Seniors

Enhancing life and opportunities for our older residents is part of the vision of Community Bank Epping’s grants program. Epping is lucky to have a range of groups and services that offer retired locals new activities and the chance to meet others socially.

Over the last year, our grants program has worked with the following organisations:

  • Indian Seniors Club: Based at the Senior Citizens Centre under Epping Library, the club offers senior members of the local Indian community to chance to come together socially, undertake outings and make new friendships.

  • Community Wheels: This local not-for-profit has run two workshops on digital literacy and cyber security for older residents – helping them to use the internet safely, as well as meeting other residents

In coming months, two new grants will start:

  • Epping Senior Citizens Club: This long standing large group meets in the room under the Library. It has applied for funding to replace and improve equipment for social activities including table tennis and karaoke. Funding for computer resources will help the smooth running of the club.

  • Shopping Shuttle: In December 2025 and January 2026, Community Wheels will be running a free shopping shuttle for elderly Epping district residents, enabling them to get to a local shopping centre. This service will pick up at homes, and deliver people safely home on four dates – 4th and 18th December, and 15th and 29th January. Bookings essential – call 8868 1400.
