Summer Sport

Now is the time to get ready to take part in community sport this summer. Whilst the soccer and netball clubs are still in full flight, the summer sports like cricket, baseball and athletics are also gearing up. Epping is lucky to have great clubs on our doorstep to get involved.

Cricket

Epping Bulls are a premier Sydney cricket club covering a wide range of junior, senior and elite cricket. They play across a number of venues each weekend, and have practice facilities as well.

Community Bank Epping were pleased to support the club with a grant so they could resurface the main cricket nets at North Epping Oval. Used many afternoons through summer for team practice, they now look spick and span and ready for the season.

Check out the club online. They have already opened registrations for their junior cricket and put up their early practice schedule ahead of the season.

Baseball

Nearby in Ermington, you’ll find the Tigers Baseball Club. Catering for a range of ages and grades, this is a great way to get involved in the sport.

They have two dates where you can come along and try out the sport (and enjoy a family sausage sizzle) – Sundays 28 July and 4 August, 11am-1pm at George Kendall Riverside Park, Ermington. Find out more online.

Athletics

At the back of Epping Oval, you’ll find the athletics track and the clubhouse for this district athletics club which over its history has nurtured many successful athletes. Catering for senior athletics, it offers a range of track and field training facilities and a full gym for members. Registration for the coming season will open around October. You can find out more online.

Community Bank Epping has recently helped the club to renovate part of their gym, including new equipment.
