It has been a very busy start to 2024 for Community Bank Epping and our latest Autumn 2024 newsletter has a great round up of what we’ve been up to.

Already this year, our branch has received a record number of applications for community grants and sponsorships. As a truly community bank – we strive to return 80% of our annual profits to the district through supporting local not-for-profit and charitable projects. From newly fitted out canteens in use this winter soccer season, to a new community hall in Epping – it is a busy time. There is even now a horse named Bendy at the Riding for the Disabled Centre in Marsfield!

We’ve also taken time to celebrate 20 years of service from our long-standing staff member, Karen. And the rest of the team have been busy with many new customers and assistance for existing bank users.

This International Day of People with Disability,

This International Day of People with Disability, we share how RDA NSW Ryde Centre supports those living with a disability to grow their skills and confidence through horse riding. ❤️
Over $280,000 has been donated by Bendigo Bank's Community Bank network to numerous RDA Centres around Australia since 2016, funding infrastructure, the purchase of horses, riding programs, volunteer training and more.🐴
Community Bank Epping is very proud of its association with RDA and the story of Bendy the Horse, who we sponsor as part of our grants program.

Thank you, Rob Phillips! Rob has retired as Chair

Thank you, Rob Phillips!
Rob has retired as Chair, and director, of Community Bank Epping's volunteer Board, after 11 years of service. Under his leadership, not only has the bank been financially sustainable, but substantial sums have been dedicated to the local community through grants. Over $1.5 million has been given out whilst he has been Chair. In 2024 this has helped 62 projects alone.
His hard work and dedication has guided the Board, with a focus on this key mission. The support of customers and staff means our community bank is making a difference.
The new Chair is Craig Gallagher, who has also served on the Board for many years. If you would like to be involved and contribute your local knowledge, new directors are always welcome.

Fostering resilient, nurturing environments for yo

Fostering resilient, nurturing environments for young children is something local charity KidsXpress is dedicated to. So when they approached Community Bank Epping for a grant to run parent and carer workshops at local schools, how could we say no?

Recently at Epping West Preschool, senior clinical psychologist, Bec (pictured left) guided participants through strategies to strengthen caregiving, empowering parents to feel more confident and supported in their vital role. This followed an earlier workshop at Epping Heights PS in Term 3, and more are planned into 2025.

It's not often you get a bank with a horse named after it, but that's what Community Bank Epping has! Introducing Bendy ...

We have been supporting RDA NSW Ryde Centre - Riding for the Disabled - in Marsfield with grants for important projects. And one is the addition of a new horse to their stable. More horses = more rides = more happy children and adults with disability.

@bendigobank are featuring this story as a great example of how community banks like ours give back to local areas with valuable grants funding. So thank you to all our customers - through you, we can do awesome projects like this.

Community Bank Epping was set up by over 200 enter

Community Bank Epping was set up by over 200 enterprising locals in North Epping in 2003. Many are still shareholders today and the successful operation of the bank is testimony to their foresight.

The Annual General Meeting of Epping and Districts Financial Services Ltd (who operate Community Bank Epping) will take place on Thursday 28 November, at 7pm, at the North Epping Bowling Club. All shareholders, customers and community members are welcome to attend.

What a great opportunity! Epping Scout Group, NSW

What a great opportunity! Epping Scout Group, NSW not only gets to do all the usual Scouting things, but they also learn to sail on the Parramatta River at Meadowbank, from a purpose-built boat shed. It was great to see them sail down the river on Saturday afternoon, learning skills and resilience, whilst having fun.
Epping Scouts came to Community Bank Epping for a grant to update their personal floatation devices (lifejackets) due to their old ones reaching their use-by date. Our community grants program was happy to help, and now they have a summer of sailing and canoeing ahead.

Ever wondered what that building behind the playground at the park on Norfolk Road is?
It's the Epping Athletics Centre and home to a longstanding district athletics club - @edac_2121 Members use the athletics track behind to train, but also have a new sparkling gym in the clubhouse after receiving a grant from Community Bank Epping to renovate very old facilities.
